Invitation

It's been a weekend full of family and friends, some we haven't seen in far too long, some we'll see again this week with the holiday.  Either way, a fulfilling, soulful, happy time.

Makes me think of a favorite poem...

Invitation
     by Shel Silverstein

If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!

In fact, I've framed this poem at our front door inviting visitors to our hearth to eat, drink, B.S., and be merry.  Can't forget those flax-golden tales!  It's half the fun.

May we all invite the best of ourselves to play joyfully with the best in all of our family and friends this week as we busily prepare to give thanks for all the blessings we are fortunate to enjoy.

What blessings are you counting this week?//

What's For Dinner Tonight?
Another family dinner -- friends who are family in fact. Friends we generally see often but haven't often enough for many months with work commitments far from home (them, not us) and other busyness.  Roasted turkey and all sorts of goodies. You could call it a pre-turkey day meal. We'll just call it home away from home...

Who are you sharing your dinner with this evening?

Happy Sunday night!
